Manfred wanted to do things as briskly and tersely as possible and not let anyone say a single word more than they needed to. Franziska is just so overconfident that she thinks she'll win, no matter what Phoenix does. Heck, she steamrolls most of her own witnesses in the process, too, because she only cares about winning.
