Nah. Of all the ideas we can steal from other nations, the idea of mandatory shit like that isn't one of them. Individualism is something that is a core tenet of our country, we don't need to be pushing people through a "training" program.

And believe me, there's plenty of people, including basically all those in those pictures here, that I'd enjoy seeing go through such a thing simply for the hilarity. But it doesn't mean it's a good idea.


I don't know. I actually would support a mandatory 2 - 4 years of military service out of high school. Particularly if it had a focus on skills training.

Also, ideally, I like to think it would give everyone a common experience and help form a more cohesive society. Everyone would have something in common with everyone else and could approach encounters with some kind of common ground between them. But that may be a little too optimistic of me.
