if Asia was wiped from the map the world would very quickly become a much better place.

Except for the disappearance of a huge percentage of the world's manufacturing capabilities, including most computer components (which would be required to establish new factories elsewhere).

All of which could be remade within 2 years, tops. Cheap exploitable labour could come from Africa or South America and the rest of the mainstream manufacturing jobs would return to the first world. Yes, there would be an awkward transition phase and there are likely some negative effects, but the world would ultimately bounce back better than it was before.

Meanwhile, the world's population and thus pollution rates are more than cut in half, Islamic terrorism is nearly entirely wiped out, most of the world's nuclear arsenal vanishes leaving the only remaining nuclear powers (USA, UK, and France) nearly no reason to maintain a nuclear arsenal of their own, paving the way for total nuclear disarmament, and the "holy land" which has divided the three Abrahamic religions vanishes altogether eliminating arguably the greatest source of religious tension.

Look at the other options. If North America or Europe were erased, the world would become a colossal shithole given that some of the most influential and progressive nations on Earth would be eliminated.

If Africa was erased, not much would change aside from a major global decrease in diseases such as malaria and AIDS.

Lastly, if South America or Oceania disappeared, nobody would even notice. Asia remains as the best choice to axe, although the gargantuan loss of life would not be an easy pill to swallow.
