Sure, because it's not like other countries with strict firearms regulation - Japan, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, to name just a few - which DON'T share an open border with areas that allow civilians to easily obtain battlefield weaponry don't have sky-high gun violence and murder rates. You just go ahead and keep clinging to that one example that you think kind of sort of proves your point while fastidiously ignoring the mountain of evidence to the contrary. I'm sure it will work out for you. (Also, for what it's worth, states with stricter gun regulation have - on average - noticeably lower gun violence rates than those with permissive gun laws.
