I mean, James Buchannan, Herbert Hoover, Andrew Johnson and Jimmy Carter were all presidents for Christ's sake. The monetary policy that drove the Roaring Twenties was a hot potato dirty bomb that Hoover had the misfortune of inheriting. Trump inherited a similar one, he just doesn't know it yet. Carter, similar, just less decisive. Not so well versed on the Andrew Johnson administration, but I'm legitimately curious whether he was as bad as he was made out to be, or if the Radical Republicans just wrote the history books as such.
