Im amazed people are defending the cashier Having spent a fair amount of time working in retail, it's pretty easy for me to always side with the person working in retail given how awful it can be dealing with the general public. cashiers and waiters tend to be awful, entitled people and generally automatically disagreeable. I've only seen that or been that way if the day was already awful to begin with. It's just generally not a good idea to be rude to employees in general. Like at a supermarket deli, there's only one person working there, you get impatient because you weren't helped immediately, you open the door and yell "IS THERE ANYONE WORKING HERE AT ALL!?" they come out and apologize because they were working on cleaning/cooking in the back, you're still rude and say "you should be up front and actually working." ...That kind of stuff doesn't inspire employees to be friendly to you, you know?
