I am still trying to wrap my head on the praise it gets Character design, good plot with a decent pace, the widest array of classes and customization in a JRPG until that point, challenging difficulty, and more. FF Tactics improved Tactics Ogre (one of my favorite games ever) in basically every aspect, and at the same time it paved the way for games like Disgaea to become popular in the west.
