It could have been done a lot worse without Microsoft too. That stuff before about a united ecosystem? That might not be a thing if Microsoft didn't set that standard. At the very least we might have waited a lot longer for that to be a thing. But that's the end of the book! It stopped at the Xbox Live launch.
