The concept of the "deep state" has been around since before World War 2, and depending on how you define it, it's most certainly a thing.

Deep state was defined in 2014 by Mike Lofgren, a former Republican U.S. congressional aide

Eisenhower talked about the "military-industrial complex" and how much power it wielded behind the scenes before and during his Presidency.

The MIC and "deep state" are not the same thing, but I'm glad you just went to the same Wiki article that I quoted that from to pull that from your ass.

You realize Eisenhower was president after WWII right? Lol

You realize Eisenhower was a high-ranking General during WW2, and therefore would still have connections to what he referred to as the MIC?

And they most certainly are the same thing.
