It's a coin that was made with the assurance that it would be a 1 to 1 with the USD, and people were trading a shit ton of bitcoin and stuff with it using it to artificially inflate the coinconomy, despite it having no real reason to be worth a real USD, other than people saying it's supposed to. And now the people who made it got a subpeona and it's under doubt that they have the real money to back it up, so everyone started selling in fear.
