Fwiw, things can get NWD (notify without delete) now, so it may look like on your end we didn't do anything when we may have NWD'd that mark. Therefore something did happen, it just wasn't deleted, only nwd'd There's a red mark that says the poster was already notified if it was acted on which it didn't say for me when I checked it just now.
