You might be caught out to dry with this. You might also come out on top. It's good to get equity instead of just paying rent. Ontario implemented a foreign property ownership tax in April last year and sales bottomed out. Prices haven't really followed that decline but they will need to. ...I'm still a little shook losing ~20% of home value in 3 years here.
