105. The Floor is Lava (Xeybozn)
WYSaegY

This game has achieved memetic status over the years, and for good reason. The Floor is Lava is powered by your imagination alone, and you can easily play it by yourself or with friends. It's fun to play in public, too, so it's versatile enough to be played nearly anywhere. Plus, anyone can play it. It doesn't require any special skills or talents. You can make up your own rules and objectives, so it's pretty flexible. It can help add some spice to an otherwise mundane trip to the grocery store if you're not pushing the cart and thus have no ability to pop wheelies or hop onto the bottom of the rack after a running head start to see how far you can go before it naturally comes to a stop.

My main issue with The Floor is Lava is not with the game itself, but with the evolving sense of flooring design. When did it stop being fashionable to have two different colors of floor tiles in an alternating pattern? Maybe I'm just going to the wrong places or maybe my mind is playing tricks on me in that way that makes you think things used to be better back in the day when they really weren't, but it feels like that used to be a more common thing when I was a kid. Choosing one tile color to be lava and having to carefully hop around them as you go is the best version of the game, and it feels like my ability to play it has been severely hampered as years have gone by. Make The Floor is Lava Great Again (MTFILGA).

Bonus Question: If given the choice, would you rather play The Floor is Lava or pop wheelies and dash down aisles with the shopping cart?
