She's making her problem your problem, and it's not even anything important. I'm allergic to soy, so we'd both starve to death or have to eat separately. Most real vegans I know (those who don't do it as a fad, or aren't only vegan for like a month, or aren't terribly misinformed and think a vegan diet is the only good diet) eat very little soy.
