If they are ever in danger, police/firemen/paramedics will come to their aid. Without refusing them for their skin colour, gender or political views.
Here's where you don't understand the controversy at all. Christianity doesn't promote endangering sinners, all life is equally valued and any service available to a devout Christian is available to all people as it doesn't go against their beliefs. The issue is that the bakers don't want to help the set up of a lesbian marriage as it goes against their religious beliefs. The bakers don't want to defy God's wishes and that is basically the main point of religion; if you make them defy their God then they mustn't have religious freedom.
Edit: Let's also note that people are allowed to refuse other people business indiscriminately, they normally don't have to make wedding cakes for anybody. The suing only takes place because protected classes trump religious freedom.
