| Topic | My only gripe with The Last Jedi is Finn's entire story / plot *SPOILERS* |

It plays like we're totally in that headspace with them, when I can think about is how Finn and Rose miraculously survive the lightspeed ram when seemingly everyone else in the hangar is dead, oh and how the fuck is Phasma and her crew marching towards our heroes when just a moment prior they were literally standing over Finn and Rose about to execute them with a contrived battle axe thing. I actually hate everything about this execution scene. It feels so drawn out, like it's telegraphing for five minutes, "this is a Bond monologue, feel free to get up and use the restroom," only for it to be followed by the most breathtaking film moment of 2017. Phasma and Hux look like total idiots here, so busy twirling their villainous mustaches, they forgot to maintain the plot's tension. --- Whatever happened to standards? Whatever happened to bare minimums? 15 Transwomen of color have been murdered since 1/1/2017 ... Copied to Clipboard! |
