| Strife2 12/27/17 10:14:29 AM #16: | Xenogears I played Xenosaga and loved I, hated II, and loved (most) of III. All I had heard about for 10-15 years was this was amazing. Almost like CT in just the level of "OHMYGAWDHYPE." Maybe because it was a tremendous breakthrough title or something. I finally got to it a couple of years ago. What it ended up being was "an experience." Outside of the battle systems, Elly and Citan, none of the story or characters interested me. They built a big world/universe, but I never felt they got around to explaining it. Some of the levels drove me insane (Sewers, Tower, Final Dungeon), the dumbass platforming mech stuff, all the random encounters that stopped the characters dead on the map (OOPS DROP OFF A CLIFF). By the time the Disc 2 situation happened, I was actually happy. It means things were quickly wrapping up. I get why people love it. I get why (even if they don't) they consider it a memorable or remarkable "experience."
