I think the jury's still out on whether hyperspace travel consumes fuel at all, or whether it's merely the act of initiating it that consumes the fuel. I mean, that entire part of the story (and it's a huge fucking part, arguably taking up more screen time than the Rey/Kylo stuff) is stupid.
