If it was changed to mimic Gabranth's def=ATK move if you remember it would have been a different story. (And a sweet one post-700 def.) You can still use it if you want since it does offer HP on top of the other stats. (And works well with WoL if he keeps his increased magic defense boost for LiwU after enhancements. ) So yeah, you can take advantage of the good def both offer if you got nothing better to focus on if you want.
