I'm very much enjoying it so far. Feels like a step up from Xenoblade 1 in most areas, and I say that as someone who loved that game. It's flawed in many of the same ways that the first Xenoblade is - but as was the case then, they add to the unique charm of the game IMO, even for some of the frustrations they cause.

I did skip Xenoblade Chronicles X, though, and my friend who played that one says this feels like a 100% step down in gameplay from that. My only gripe atm is that while the Blade system is very cool, I don't think it has any good reason to be quite as random as it is - especially if you're playing the game blind. Even if you get a quest reward that's guaranteed to be a fit for a certain role, you could end up sticking something very much made for a tank on your healer.
