Chise is just so instantly and unquestioningly accepting of him that it bothers me. I think that acceptance would mean more if she had an ounce of doubt in the first place but even as early as episode one she was all 'no he's nice to me I don't want to leave'.
Well when you're about to kill yourself because no one wants you and even your mother didn't want you and killed herself in front of you it kind of skews your perception and you may be happy with anyone who wants you, hence why she let herself be auctioned at a slave market in the first place ---
