I wouldn't feel the need to sign a pledge in order to do whatever I feel is right.
I'm not sure why Bill Gates needs a pledge or why anyone else should feel obligated to sign it

I remember when prom was occurring and we had a Senior named Antoinette who walked around with a pledge that she wanted all the Seniors to sign stating that we wouldn't drink on prom night.
She was so smug and sanctimonious about the whole thing, wagging her finger in front of us and telling us in front of administration that we couldn't drink and how she was holding us to the pledge.

As a result I refused to sign it, and told her I don't need a pledge to do the right thing.
She got whiny and squealing but I kept walking around her after that every time I saw her in the hallways.

Been a murder, over in Riften. Some old lady who runs an orphanage. Those poor children must be heartbroken.
