Could be cheapo and people will still buy them, like how some people buy those garbage movies like Transmorphers or some big animal movie like idk Crocodile. Plus like back when video rental stores were still a big thing those places would buy those kind of movies as well.

And think dvd sales are still decent nowadays, although this was few years when Riddick came out, I think it just covered it's expenses with the box office, but they made a good profit off dvd sales since Vin Diesel said they thinking of making another one since Riddick was doing well in that area.
