Only if you have a GPU to push it. LCDs don't really have the drastic improvement in the flicker department that CRTs did simply by getting a higher refresh, so if you haven't got sufficient power to run the games you play at much higher than 60fps you simply aren't going to gain much of anything.

In fact, you may actually wind up with a shittier looking monitor than what you already have. Manufacturers have no qualms sacrificing image quality to tout the high refresh of their budget monitors. If you want high image quality and a high refresh, it's going to cost the big bucks.
