In his presser he talked a lot about clubhouse morale and caring for the players as human and keeping them happy, etc. He actually kind of went overboard with that sentiment which I'm not sure what to make of. Over the last 3 years we haven't really had much in the way of external problems (except Harvey) until this year after a lot of the vets like Bruce/Walker/Grandy were traded and there were some more issues then. He also mentioned leadership was very valuable to him and wad closely in touch with Wright who even if he isn't playing much still is valued as a clubhouse presence and leader. He will be bringing on a new pitching coach and bench coach probs. I hope our hitting coaches stick around because they are good but Kevin Long might want to manage and was interviewed by the Nats and a few others I think. Callaway said he'd be reaching out to every player as first order of business and then he was going to "watch every single Mets game from 2017". May God have mercy on his soul but I admire the dedication. I watched almost every game, I only missed like 6! Tldr smart move by the mets.
