i still don't even know what neogaf is or why anyone should care
One of the premier video game forums. A bunch of devs, industry insiders and journalists were regulars there.
Its users were also known for propagating various politically charged gaming related controversies. The community there was aggressively leftist, which put them at odds with various groups and individuals.
Whatever one's opinion on their politics, its hard to deny that it was one of the best and most active forums for gaming news and discussion.
GameFAQs is better.
They're both basically garbage and anti-free speech
Regarding anti-free speech, from what I've read, Neogaf appears worse.* I've seen some ridiculous reddits/twitters posted containing bans with 'immature' reasons given. One of them I last read involved questioning if the site censors and they got banned saying they don't belong there.
*But then again, on GameFAQs I've only been on PotD, PS4, XBone, Switch, and some game boards. I'm guessing some boards may have mods that frequent and don't mind... removing what shouldn't be said?
I think GameFAQs might be more hypocritical than Neogaf. But GameFAQs thinks words are inherently offensive, which is just level ? block insanity.
