I think a lot of people are faking having things like "high functioning depression" so they have an excuse for why they don't get shit done. I believe people have depression, but I don't believe people who say stuff like "I'm so smart and so talented by my depression is the one thing keeping me from practicing my art/studying/writing."

No, you're just lazy, and even if you weren't, you're probably just average at your "talent" like everyone else. The fact that it's been 4 years since you last drew a thing is your fault.
