The only one who can change that, is you. And only if you want to of course. It would take a while before you're able to read at your own pace because you first need to get used to reading.

And if you can't retain something you read on the first time, just read it again. There's no rule that when you read something you have to have it memorized the first time you read it.

Like I told Rhydon, just start with 1 chapter of manga whenever you feel like reading. I'd say start with something that has short chapters. Something that has around 10 pages per chapter.

You can do it, I know you can!

But of course, there's nothing wrong with only watching anime and never reading manga. Well, besides the fact that a lot of times you don't get the actual ending or even the whole story.
