And it is not a synonym for dull. It often carries the implication that something is dull, but many times where you would otherwise use dull it wouldn't make sense to replace it with mundane. People dont typically use the word mundane unless theyre trying to describe something as unpleasant in some way or another. I thought that was just common sense.
