Trump really did a number on her in 2016. It appears she still hasn't recovered.
To be fair, she spent something like 30 years building political capital and called in all her favors in this last election only to lose to the most unelectable person since Ross Perot, knowing full well this was likely her last real shot at becoming the first woman president. I'd say having your life's ambitions crumble before you by Donald Trump of all people is enough to make most people lose their shit in a way they'll never quite recover from.

You know what I mean. How many times during the Monica scandal must she have told herself "just keep it together and keep your mouth shut, and you'll get yours eventually."
I wasn't implying she was this bastion of hard work, but she's clearly dedicated her entire life to politics and spent the last 30 years living with no defining principles other than compromising/dealing at every step to claw her way to the top inch by inch. Her entire adult life revolved around becoming president, and at the finish line it all came crashing down.
Reminds me of that film I saw where the girl was trapped to a device that permanetly brought her to the brink or orgasm but then stop, wait until she calms down, then restart forever.
That seems to be the analogy for Clinton. She was in that device for 30 years and right when she thought she was getting out Trump put it back on. ---
