As someone who is in February in p4 golden I understand what you're going through. For me it's just that the game feels padded and no longer fun. And as for the social sim element, well their novelty has long since worn off considering p3 was 10 years ago and I was already older than the characters themselves.

The novelty of experiencing japanese culture stuff like "golden week" and booths at school has similarly lost its initial quirky enjoyment.

Now I'm just irritated by their need to make all women submissive and/or hate embracing their sexuality because of japanese cultural differences. The lack of assertiveness in the girls you romance just makes you roll your eyes because woe to the japanese programmer who actually thinks this is what people want.
