It's not liberals. It's actually people on both sides, pretty much since his career started. He's had accusations of homophobia for years. His violent lyrics and songs about women have been criticized pretty much by parents across the political spectrum. It's not even just him. Both rap and most types of rock have seen these sorts of complaints levied against them for years.

Really though, the fact that you are making this a political issue instead of a discussion on the merits and marks of artistic freedom really says more about you than it does about either 'side'.
