How'd it end? The kids go down under the trap door and find a homeless guy living under there, so they think it was him who was the phantom/ghost, then at the end the MC opens her locker and finds a yearbook dated 50 years in the past, when the school had their fire, and they looked at who was supposed to be the phantom and it was their friend named Brian who "just moved there".
