Putting spaces after punctuation is grammatically accurate. Text in text-heavy things like games and books should be, at bare minimum, grammatically accurate.

...Not when it comes to ellipses.

Using ellipses in any sense other than academic (in which case it has its own character rather than being three periods in a row, and can only be used to omit part of a quotation) requires nothing other than consistency within the work.
