I couldn't remember if it was well past what McDonald's heat for coffee should have been or if it was an unsecured lid. I read on reddit a while back where people were talking about how the case gets used as an example of frivolous when it was actually a good suit.

That said it's used as an example of frivolous and that is was what I was trying to get across. I suppose I could have said do you support someone sueing Starbucks because there coffee was hot and they burned their tongue.

that makes no sense

how can you use a case that is 100% NOT frivolous
as an example of frivolous cases

just stop and think for a second please

maybe find a case where someone sued starbucks for that, except there probably isn't such a case

instead McDonalds literally had coffee so hot it melted skin

and btw
-this woman sued after McDonalds refused to pay her medical bills
-she didn't sue for millions, the court felt that was a necessary punishment (she only sued for her bill cost; and in the end she got much less money than advertised)
-many other people that her had their skin burned off for McDonalds coffee and that was why the court felt McDonalds needed a punishment

Because if Literally everyone uses something one way it can convey meaning that isn't exactly the definition.

If most people equate that case with frivolous law suits and sueing because coffee is hot then using it as an example of coffee being hot and burning yourself with it is a fine example.
