Never meant to be an enclosed space but he was crazy and didn't care. So now that it's mine it's my problem. Thankfully I only use it as my laundry room. But every time it rains water seeps under the walls from outside, soaks up the drywall and then that black mold grows all over it to about two feet up. I need to rip the whole thing down but that's a massive project. I just spray it down with bleach. The bleach is a very temporary solution to that issue, but effective. When I was a kid my parents had a dryer in the basement that didn't vent to the outside, which created a lot of mold on the walls and ceiling.
