They said they're not doing long story arcs anymore. They experimented with it for two seasons (which I actually liked), but it didn't work out for them, so they're going back to random weekly stuff.

2015 was fine with a few bumps...but 2016 just felt like one long-drawn episode with them banking on Trump losing which did not happen, causing them to change the story and unable to save the season.

Just a 2 or 3-parter and that's it. Everything else should be single stand-alone episodes.


Personally I think 2014 was the best way to do it. There were recurring themes/stories and callbacks throughout the season, but each episode stood on its own and didn't really require you to watch any others. (That was the season with Handicar and Randy being Lorde, etc...)
