I hate how places make me include certain things now. It makes me keep forgetting my old passowrds.

It's pointless too since the defining trait in a password that makes it hard to crack is length, not how many capitals and symbols you put in it.

To an extent anyways. These days I think modern password decryption is done by trying random words that may or may not make a sentence and sometimes replacing some characters with similar looking numbers.

It still takes an insanely long time to crack even a four word password without any special characters or caps using that method though. There are 3,000 commonly used words in the English language, so if your password is made up of those words, there are about 81 trillion possible combinations before you start including other factors like caps.

If on the other hand you had a 8 character password of random alphanumeric characters with random capitalization, that's 62 possible choices for each character making for 218 trillion possible combinations if I did my math right. (It's 62^8, right?)

But none of it really matters since 99.99999999999% of password hacks are just social engineering, actually taking the password from a database where it was saved, or people flat out forgetting their password.
