Heat rises, and the towers 110 story design caused the top several floors to literally became a blast furnace that was hotter than fire could be expected to get. There were fires throughout the entire towers. The elevator shafts were blown-out and filled with flaming jet fuel throughout all 110 stories of both buildings. The upper floors began collapsing, adding weight exponentionally to the lower floors supporting them.
