Because in this case gender dysphoria is caused by the brain not the body. not quite. it's caused because the two aren't aligned. so, aligning them is the goal. and that is much easier (and, imo more ethically) accomplished by altering the body. In an ideal world, this would never have to happen anyway. People would be born as they should be.
