The article even says that it's due to space issues. You're making it sound like "the game will not let you play it unless it detects a memory card physically in your system". What's actually happening is "the game requires X amount of space in order to access all content, and this X space comes from a memory card because the Switch does not have X on its own".

I feel like you are arguing to argue. Or trying to say the same thing as I am in another way.

The system literally cannot play some of the games fully on the system that they come out on without a memory card.

I can't think of any system where that is the case. Maybe with N64's expansion slot? = /
