100. Outbreak Company

Outbreak Company is one of the earlier *post* SAO Isekai (Another World) anime. It's about Shinichi Kanou, a shut in otaku who somehow becomes employed to spread otaku culture to another realm connected to Japan.

The show is a comedy at heart with a bit of a harem aspect to it. The jokes are decent enough (one of my favorites being when the princess was being "tsundere"). However, there is a surprising amount of depth or at least pseudo depth that the show brings forth in our mcs struggles to create a thriving otaku nation.

In all honesty none of the characters are that memorable overall but they are all likable and many of them have good designs. There is a pretty decent amount of fan service in the show, but nothing incredibly overboard. Mostly just girls wearing less clothes than they probably would otherwise.

Also, I don't usually take note of this, but some parts of the animation budget was clearly lacking. Like if I recall the monster character's mouth does not move when he talks (I think it was this show. To be honest another show aired at around the same time with like a monster too and that ones mouth did open and I took note of it).

In any case, Outbreak Company is a fun show that is more enjoyable if you are already knowledgeable about parts of otaku culture etc. It has cute female characters and a male character who is not a complete loser.

99. The Royal Tutor

You'll notice as I do this list that I'll most likely remember shows that aired recently a lot better. This is one that just ended recently so it's very fresh in my mind. The show is about Heine who is employed to tutor 4 young princes. Each of them have their own quirk that he must overcome.

I'll be honest when I say I didn't really like this show at first. But each of the princes goes through a clear story arc and transformation. While none of the characters are really that ground breaking it's impressive what they do in the short period of time while developing the differences of five different characters. Heine himself is a very short person so I can relate to him in that way >.>.

Not really much more to talk about. The show has solid art work and animation. There is a "story" but the core of the show is about the character development and the show does it well. Watch this if you want character focused non-sol type shows.

98. Netoge

Believe it or not girls play video games and this show is about a lot of girls who play games. Basically a group of friends who only knew each other online find out they go to the same school. One guy and three girls. The show is an ecchi romcom.

I'd like to start this by saying this came out in 2016 and that almost seems weird. Like everyone knows girls play games now. While some "experts" like to say they outnumber guys at this point I'm still pretty sure males still dominate in what we would call "games."

The show's main girl Ako, is a lovable dork who has no real social skills. She is dating (or something) her in game husband Hideki who has a hard time trusting girls because he once proposed to a girl who ended up being a guy in game. The cast overall is decent but Ako's quirkiness is going to be the deciding factor fo r you.

Netoge is largely a show of big moments. The good scenes are really good and carry the show. So it's not really the most consistent thing but does more than enough. It has decent fan service. Some of the animation is questionable in places and it's clear they cut some corners. If you've ever played games, especially MMOs you'll find some minor enjoyment even if you dislike everything else.
