Yeah, but at the same time it's pretty dumb because in half of our states there's literally no reason to vote, which kind of defeats the purpose of democracy.

31 states haven't voted differently since 1992, meaning there's basically no point in voting for presidential elections in those states. And I know people who literally don't even vote because of this (and why would you even waste your time), so even our popular vote numbers are completely skewed.

There are what, 12 swing states? Twelve places in the country that are given the privilege to vote for the underdog party.


actually the only state I see not having much reason to vote is alaska as the election is usually done decided by the time we get around to tallying up their votes. not voting because your state has never changed is just fucking stupid. "oh we've never won before so why try" you know what that means? you'll still never change anything. this last election should prove that as some states that had never gone red did. and NC used to not be considered a swing state but it is now.
