I liked this statement. I think people further left than me (probably the majority here?) would say it doesn't go far enough to repudiate Trump but I like the brainstorming that he's doing.
The best point here is that conservatives WANT libs to transform this into a debate about Confederate statues--because the left will lose that debate and it distracts from the main point of white supremacists supporting the president
Uh, they're winning the debate if we're going by whether or not statues are being taken down.

We cannot let the nucleus of the debate be about the statues. That's not what it's about anyway. It's an issue, but it's only tangentially related to the white supremacy issue.
I mean, its not a majority. Yes more people support keeping them as opposed to removing them but 1-in-5 isn't sure what we should do with them. ---
