The best point here is that conservatives WANT libs to transform this into a debate about Confederate statues--because the left will lose that debate and it distracts from the main point of white supremacists supporting the president Uh, they're winning the debate if we're going by whether or not statues are being taken down. "Seph's kind of right though," if I can quote myself. Statues is an issue where the general consensus is the conservative side, sadly. We cannot let the nucleus of the debate be about the statues. That's not what it's about anyway.
