You gotta answer my question from before then. This board, the Smash 4 board, Switch board, Wii U board, neogaf, and Reddit all have a majority of people expecting a port with more characters, stages, etc. So basically the same as what your sequel would be, and also like I said, a lot more than Splatoon 2 added in the sequel.

What are you on about? Splatoon 2 had a completely new single player campaign, Salmon Run, new stages, new multiplayer changes to ranked and levelling up etc.

It's nothing like a deluxe version at all. It's a standard by the books sequel.

I already asked what YOU are expecting from a port. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe added battle mode and a couple of characters with nothing else. Splatoon 2 isn't just the exact same game as Splatoon with some new stages and weapons. That's the major difference.

Your counter to my logic in using the MK8 as a comparison point still doesn't work for reasons I've stated. That's why I said you ignored my explanation because you still have. My response would be the same as what I already said to you. You also ignored seemingly most of what I used as evidence against a haphazard announcement this early as well.

The only reason I'm "adamant" is because I'm not ignoring the facts like you seem to be doing. Plus you still haven't answered my question. What would a sequel add? More modes, characters, stages etc? That's what most people expect anyway. Since their main dev team has other priorities now, it would make more sense in a lot of ways to add those things while calling it Smash for Switch

You're so weird. There's no evidence of anything. We're just both speculating on what Nintendo will do. We have no idea what priorities the team has right now.

I've already spoke about what I think a sequel would be compared to a Deluxe Edition.
- New roster (which might have several removed characters with several new ones. Several characters changed too)
- New Classic mode
- New modes. No Smash Run and no Smash Tour
- Completely new stages with only a few returning from the entire franchise

Even if it used the same engine this clearly wouldn't be a port. If it was the same game as 3DS/Wii U with a couple of new characters and stages added on top that's a Deluxe Edition. Clearly there's a major difference between the two.

And now we have that Dutch leak that involved a recently removed official Nintendo survey that listed Smash for Switch in its list of upcoming games, so what I've been saying seems even more likely.

Nobody is doubting a Smash Bros game is coming on Switch lol. The question is if it's a port, a sequel and when it's coming.
