That's kinda simplifying different groups struggles to "the struggle" though, different groups have different experiences in society. The number may not be 40%, but many of those groups have higher suicide rates than the "norm". I'm not saying that having to reconcile having a man's body but feeling like a woman doesn't cause mental stress, but I think to attribute the suicide rate solely to just being trans is wrong.

Gay people, until relatively recently, were similarly shamed by society, rejected by their families, and called sinful from every pulpit. Their suicide rate never even approached 20%, and today the suicide rate is less than 10%.

Meanwhile, in an age where population is largely secular and the media is pushing a pro-trans message so fervently that Caitlyn Jenner was declared "woman of the year" despite not even being a woman for a full year at that point, the transgender suicide rate still hangs around 40%.

You can't say with any honesty that there isn't some terrible element of transgenderism that needs some serious treatment. Not if you actually care about people's lives.
