I think he was just meaning that it's ultimately a very unfortunate way to go simply because it's something that's theoretically 100% preventable. I don't think he was trying to make one of those trolly "hurr durr people who kill themselves are just stupid cowards, blah, blah, blah" I think he's just pointing out how tragic it is that suicide is the way he died.
