The museum district is one of the best parts of the city. I like all the museums there. The zoo is also right there. Houston has some great food of basically any type. Though, I'm more familiar with pizza places, mexican food, and burger places. One other type of food that I recommend, Po' Boys. In particular Antone's Famous Po' Boys. There are two locations. Po' Boys are basically sub sandwiches, with a cajun flair. Cajun food is a spicy seafood (usually) with a very nice flavor. I can recommend other places if you tell me what you might like.

Houston has a pretty decent theater downtown if you're into plays. It also has a decent symphony too.

There's stereotypical Texas stuff like live country music and line dancing and such. But there's also a big rap and hip hop scene. I don't know anything about it, but it's here. I'm sure you can google more to find out about it.

Galveston is pretty close. Galveston has some touristy spots plus a couple of decent beaches. There are other outdoor type activities nearby too.

What sort of thing are you looking for? I can probably point out more.
