I found it on the ground near an intersection. When I saw it still worked I was about to look through the contacts for someone to return it to, but I saw the following transcript in the messages to the owner's wife:

I want to get it back to the owner, but I'm kind of worried that I'll e mistaken for the first person to find the phone, and they'll try to confront me or press charges.
